It was fun to play around with some quick color studies on the Old Man and the Sea. What a great illustration job that would be. These little color notations are a great way practice, and play.

This is one of my favorite books of all time, so seeing these today is a pleasant surprise. I especially like the two roughs with the bit of yellow, I'd always thought of the sky being a yellow or ochre in that story. Fantastic designs all around.
